Eden Vision Community Organization (EVCO) is the heart of the Umoja Maono network in
Arusha, Tanzania, carrying forward a spirit of collaboration and holistic development that began
with the Umoja Maono co-founders three years ago. What started as community programs and
initiatives co-created with the Laboma community and UMOJA agents, has grown into EVCO –
a fully registered organization that continues to receive guidance and support from the Umoja
network while building its own impact.
EVCO is committed to holistic community development, with a special focus on supporting
vulnerable populations – children from low-income households, orphans, and children from
single-parent families. We believe in nurturing every child in a supportive environment that
fosters intellectual, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual growth, laying a strong foundation
for lifelong learning.
Our work spans three key areas:
Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE): EVCO operates two pre-schools,
Eden Vision I and Eden Vision II, serving children aged 2 to 6 years. Our comprehensive
education programs prepare children for primary school success while cultivating
curiosity, creativity, and resilience.
Women’s Economic Empowerment: Through skills training and income-generating
opportunities, we empower parents—especially mothers—to enhance their family’s
economic wellbeing, which in turn strengthens children’s development and future
prospects.
Nutritious and Regenerative Agriculture (Eden Farm): Our sustainable farming
initiative promotes healthy food production and consumption, ensuring children receive
nutritious meals while teaching families how to cultivate food sustainably at home.
Despite challenges in infrastructure and technology, EVCO thrives thanks to a dedicated team of
educators, volunteers, and community members. Our work is guided by values of innovation,
responsibility, compassion, collaboration, cultural consciousness, and love.

nurture every child in a supportive environment that meets their holistic developmental needs,
and our vision is a community of hope where resources, opportunity, and guidance are available
